Philanthropy

What Ronald McDonald House Charities Mean to Us

Alpha Delta Pi has been passionate about volunteering for our international philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, since 1979. Ronald McDonald Houses provide comfortable, temporary residences for families with seriously ill or injured children near medical facilities and hospitals across the country.

Members of Beta Alpha are proud to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana by preparing and serving dinners as well as collecting supplies that residents might need.

“ Giving back at ADPi means more than just fundraising. Being able to volunteer in-person at the Indianapolis RMHC branch alongside some of my closest sisters was something that made the actions of our philanthropic efforts tangible.”

- Jessica Joy, 2021-22 VP of Philanthropy

Ronald McDonald House Charities also create family rooms in hospitals near pediatric and intensive care units and Care Mobiles, providing access to health care for families that may not be near a medical facility. Ronald McDonald House has two separate locations in Indianapolis, one attached to Riley Children's Hospital, and another satellite location down the street.

Our Philanthropy Events

Philanthropy is an important value to Alpha Delta Pi. We host two philanthropy events during the year, one in the spring and one in the fall. In the past, we’ve hosted Carnival at the Court with all-you-can-eat carnival snacks, a photo booth, Pie-a-Pi and Dunk-a-Delta stations, and ADPretzel Day with hot pretzels with an assorted topping bar.

In spring 2021 we hosted ADPiHop with a breakfast bar including pancakes and toppings. Our most recent philanthropy event was ADPi’s Wild West which included a live band, barbeque truck, and mechanical bull. We’re always excited for our fall event which gives women a chance to come to ADPi and meet our members before formal recruitment season.

We are proud to fundraise and have in-person opportunities to support the Ronald McDonald Hosue Charities and their families.

Additional Service Opportunities

Throughout campus and the Bloomington community, our sisters can be found volunteering in philanthropic and service-based organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, IU Dance Marathon, and the Bloomington Food Pantry. Our sisters also attend and support the philanthropic events of other PHA, IFC, NPHC, and MCGC chapters.

Alpha Delta Pi is committed to making a difference in the lives of our community and beyond. It's our mission to serve the greater good, all while developing strong women of character. If you or someone you know needs ADPi volunteers for your organization or project, please contact us at baadpiphilo@gmail.com and request a time and day for service. Thank you, and Pi love!
